ifilm joins Islamic Film Market in Iran

ifilm has joined the latest edition of Islamic Film Market based in Iran.

ifilm channel has attended the seventh Islamic Film Market, currently underway in Iran.

The prestigious event for Islamic TV networks and radio stations kicked off on July 2 and will wrap up on Wednesday.

As a sidebar event to the General Assembly of the Islamic Television and the Radio Union, the event showcases Islamic films and TV series with a focus on wholesome entertainment.

This comes as seventh edition of the Islamic Film Market opened in Iranian holy city of Mashhad under the aegis of the Islamic union with 800 TV products on show.

According to media committee of the event, among participating TV networks and media institutes in the event include those based in Iraq, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Turkey, Syria, Yemen, Palestine, Pakistan, Azerbaijan Republic, the UK and India.

The sixth edition of the Islamic Film Market inaugurated at the 8th General Assembly of the Islamic Radio and Television Union (IRTVU).

According to the previous edition of the event, the Islamic Film Market aims to introduce cinema and television productions of the Islamic countries.

Iranian radio and TV channels and institutes, including Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), Farabi Cinema Foundation, the Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (IIDCYA), and the Documentary and Experimental Film Center (DEFC) offer their latest productions at the market to help increase the exposure of productions in the international arena.

In January, the holy city of Mashhad in northeastern Iran was officially named the Capital of Islamic Culture in 2017 for the Asia region by the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO).
